Output power from FS LO chain was recorded as a function of frequency. Measurements lasted until Sunday 2022-02-27.

Plots of results are available here. A few additional tunings outside of our usual range of frequencies are presented here.

2 Friday, 2022-04-08

2.1 Receiver optimization

Tables final600 and final1200 from the FM RU test campaign were used as start values to find optimum tunings for the 600 and 1200 GHz FS RU chains.

The settings for the 600 GHz receiver were varied as follows

  • MPA was varied by -2 to +1 around start value
  • FRM was varied by -2 to +2 around start value
  • bias300 was varied by -0.5 V to +0.5 V in steps of 0.1 V (later 0.2 V) around start value
  • settings producing LO power outside of 0.5 to 4 mW according to table from LO tests were rejected

The settings for the 1200 GHz receiver were varied as follows

  • MPAA and MPAB were both kept fixed at 4
  • FRMA and FRMB were both varied by -1 to +1 around start value, but were not allowed to differ by 2
  • SHM was initially kept at 0 with inhit signal on, later SHM=0, 1 and 2 were allowed.
  • bias300 and bias600 were both varied by -0.5 V to +0.5 V in steps of 0.1 V (later 0.2 V) around start value

Note, for the first measurement (id=15143136), the power meters were swapped!

5.1 Spectral response 600 GHz

Traces from a spectrum analyzer at 10 kHz resolution bandwidth as well as 10 kHz video bandwidth were recorded with transmitter input power of 7 dBm. For each frequency a trace at LSB and USB frequency were taken. These data were taken with a low number of channels of 501, please refer to the data taken Monday, 9 May for data taken with the appropriate spectrum analyzer setting.

6.1 Spurious 600 GHz

Traces from a spectrum analyzer at 10 kHz resolution bandwidth as well as 10 kHz video bandwidth were recorded with transmitter input power of 7 dBm. For each frequency a trace with the transmitter tuned to +/-1, +/-2, +/-4 and +/-8 GHz frequency offset was recorded. Plots of all traces are available here.

6.2 Spectral response 600 GHz
